Doberman VS refrigerator

I had to give up a refrigerator with a door ice dispenser. I would come home and there would be water [melted ice cubes] all over the place. Cain would use that great Dobe nose and push the lever in to get the ice to dispense. I tried putting cardboard in front or even a chair. He would get by that in a flash. He would even do it with us in the next room. He saw Mom and Dad getting ice this way so he figured a new game was at hand. He chewed a few pieces only but loved getting the floor covered with ice.

We would laugh like crazy everytime Cain did it. Hard to yell at him when you are laughing so much. Sitting in the living room hearing the cubes hit the tile floor would just crack us up.

We live in Florida just south of Daytona Beach. Moved here from Long Island N.Y. 23 years ago. Our first Dobe- Winston Cain the Third, was with us for 11 years.

Update - Sept. 10, 2002

On a sad note Cain lost his front right leg to cancer a month ago. He is getting around just great but my wife and I are so upset about this it is hard to talk about it. It happened so fast. I noticed a bump on his ankle and thought he got it FLYING out the doggie door the way he does. It did not go down so, my wife took him to the vet. She called my in tears that it was bone cancer and that the whole leg needed to come off ASAP. We feel so bad for Cain.
